Multi-location hospital SEO: treatment, branch and doctor pages without doorway pages

Multi-location hospital SEO works when every page maps to something real: a treatment offered at a named branch, by named doctors, with a stated cost range. Scaleo SEO builds treatment × branch and treatment × city pages only for localities a real branch serves, holds medical copy for clinical review, and tracks every page in Search Console.

What pages does a multi-specialty hospital need for local search?

Patients search for a treatment and a place: "knee replacement in Pune", "cardiologist near Whitefield", "IVF cost in Kochi". A hospital chain that wants to appear for those searches needs a page that answers each one, built on the same structure across every branch.

A page structure for a hospital chain
Page typeWhat it coversBuilt when
Branch pageAddress, timings, departments, emergency and parking details, directionsFor every physical branch
Specialty × branchA department such as cardiology or orthopaedics at one branch, with its doctors and facilitiesThe branch runs that department
Treatment × city or localityOne procedure for one place, linked to the branch that performs itA real branch serves that city or locality
Doctor profileQualifications, specialties, branches and OPD daysFor each consultant you want found by name
Cost pageA price table for a treatment, with what is and is not includedThe hospital can publish a range it stands behind
Blog postPatient questions about a condition or procedureSupporting the treatment pages

Twelve treatments in ten cities is 120 possible pages. Not every cell needs one. How many location pages you should build depends on where you have branches and where people search.

How do hospitals avoid doorway pages when building treatment × city pages?

A doorway page targets a place you do not really serve, with copy that would read the same anywhere. Google treats those as spam. Scaleo SEO avoids them with three rules:

  • Only localities served by a real branch. A treatment page for a locality is built only when a branch that offers the treatment serves it. Places without a branch are covered by a regional page instead.
  • Branch-specific facts on every page. The doctors, equipment, timings and directions of the branch that serves the place, taken from the hospital profile, not invented.
  • A second model checks every page. It rejects copy that would read the same in another city, and a page that still falls short is saved as a draft for review instead of published.

Read the full distinction in doorway pages vs location pages.

How should doctor and specialty coverage work across branches?

Many consultants work at more than one branch. Give each doctor one profile page, list the branches and OPD days on it, and link to it from every specialty and treatment page where they practise. That avoids duplicate doctor pages and tells patients exactly where to book.

Specialty pages link down to treatments and across to the same specialty at nearby branches. Scaleo SEO places those internal links inside the copy and shows a link graph, so no page is left orphaned.

Should hospital pages publish treatment costs?

Yes, when the hospital can stand behind the figures. Patients compare costs before choosing a hospital, and a clear range with its inclusions is more useful to a patient than "contact us for pricing". Scaleo SEO builds cost pages from the prices in the hospital profile; it never estimates them. A cost table should show:

What a hospital cost table should contain
ColumnWhat goes in it
Treatment or packageThe procedure, and the variant if prices differ (for example by implant or room type)
Price rangeThe range the hospital publishes, in rupees
IncludesSurgeon fees, stay, medicines, tests, follow-up visits, as applicable
ExcludesWhat adds to the bill, such as extra days or implant upgrades
BranchWhere the price applies, if it varies by branch
Last updatedThe date the prices were checked

In our location page indexing study, cost pages had the highest click-through rate of any page type, 1.01% against 0.5% for service × location pages. That sample was small (11 pages), so treat it as a signal, not a rule.

Who reviews medical content before it goes live?

A qualified clinician should. Hospital pages make medical claims, and Scaleo SEO does not replace that review. Pages can be written as drafts and wait in an approvals queue until your medical reviewer signs them off. Facts such as doctor credentials, accreditations and prices come only from the profile the hospital supplies.

How do you know whether hospital pages are working?

Connect Google Search Console once. Scaleo SEO then shows clicks, impressions, average position and indexing status for every page it published, by branch and treatment, and flags pages Google has not indexed yet.

Across 1,054 pages Scaleo SEO published for 9 client sites in India, including hospitals, 94.6% were indexed, and 62% of impressions went to pages at positions 4 to 10. For a hospital that means two jobs after launch: make sure every page is in a sitemap Google reads and linked from the main site, then improve titles and descriptions to win clicks. Read the study.

How is this different for a hospital chain versus a single hospital?

A single hospital usually needs specialty and treatment pages for its own city and a few nearby localities. A chain repeats that structure per branch, so consistency matters more: the same page layout, the same profile fields and one place to see results across all branches. Questions about hospital SEO

Can Scaleo SEO build pages for every locality in a city?

Only for localities a real branch serves. Places without a branch are better covered by a regional or city page.

Does Scaleo SEO write medical claims on its own?

It writes from the facts in the hospital profile, and pages can wait as drafts until a qualified reviewer approves them.

Do we have to publish prices?

No. Cost pages are built only for treatments where the hospital supplies a price range it is willing to publish.
